Our Sidney is gone, he will be forever in our Hearts.

Sidney
December 3, 2001 - March 29, 2011

Sidney is in a better place now.
We said good bye to our sweet boy at 6 pm on Tuesday night.
Our sweet, sweet boy we will miss you very much.
He left us very peacefully, with no pain, and running
at the Rainbow Bridge with all the other hounds.
Our hearts are broken but we know we did the right thing for our boy.
We love you, you'll always be our big goofy boy!

A Sad Note for Sidney

Bad news about our sweet greyhound Sidney, found out yesterday he has bone cancer.  He slipped coming into the house a couple of weeks ago, he started limping and we thought it was because of the little slip coming in the house.  Turns out he probably slipped because his leg was getting week from the cancer.  His leg started to swell a little, an x-ray confirmed our suspicions.  Sidney is the 5th greyhound we've adopted, such sweet gentle hounds.  We are heartbroken, he is such a sweet, sweet boy.   We adopted him in the summer of 2005.  At that time we had two other greyhounds and the three of them got along so well.

Our hearts are breaking but we know we have to let him go soon.  I can't let him suffer, we have several pain meds to keep him comfortable.  We could amputate and do chemo but my vet doesn't really advise it.  We have to think of what is best for our 10 year old boy, amputation and chemo might give him a few more months.  Do we really want to put our boy through all that pain and agony, no I don't think so. I can't do that to him, put him through that agony just so we can have a little more time with him.  I love him to much for that.  He can barely hold up that leg and is just dragging his paw, so soon he will be in a better place.

Here's some pictures of our sweet boy Sidney.  This is when we first brought him home in 2005, here he is with us, his new daddy and mommy.  We even had a Welcome Home Sidney party with some friends that also have greyhounds.

This picture is also when we first brought him home and introduced him to our 2 girls, Vicki and Carol.  We always muzzle the hounds when we first introduce them to new hounds.  A precaution just to make sure they are going to get along, and they did fabulously!  Sidney is on the left with the blue muzzle.

The rest of the pictures are from 2009, here he is with his new sister Ribena after we lost Vicki and Carol also to cancer.  I think most dogs die of some form of cancer.

Sadly, I'll see how he does today and we will have to make a heartbreaking decision but one that will be best for him.

For My Granddaughter

I used Sassy Cheryl's Wanna Be Bunny (girl) precolored image to create this card.  Papers from Stampin Up, flower dies from PaperTrey Ink.  Martha Stewart punch.  The sentiment on the front is an Anna Griffin set, I used 3 different stamps and got it on the first try.  I really surprised myself they lined up so well.  Greeting inside is computer generated.  For sure this is already in my Etsy store.  Enjoy!

One of these day if I ever can find enough hours in the day I will enter in some of the Challenges all over the blogging world.  I am so bad about posting to my blog.

Right now my poor greyhound Sidney is at the vet and things don't look to good for him.  Vet says to call after 3pm to see how the x-rays come out.  Such a sweet boy.

Enjoy the granddaughter card!

For My Daughter and For My Son

Looks like these cute little kids want to be the Easter Bunny with their long floppy ears.

Embossed background, Sassy Cheryl's precolored image, Wanna Be Bunny Boy & Girl are printed on shimmer paper and mounted on a scalloped medallion and popped up for dimension. Layered flowers embellished with buttons are popped up, ribbon and hand stamped sentiment "For My Daughter".

Cardstock from Stampin Up, decorative paper from PaperTrey Ink.  For the sentiment on the front I pulled out a set I've had for a long time, All Night Media Anna Griffin rubber stamp set.  Rubber stamp from Inkadinkado for the inside of card, I've had this stamp for quite a while and use it a lot for Easter cards.  Red ribbon is recycled from a gift.  Layered flower dies from PaperTrey Ink.

Funky Easter Flowers

Two more cards I made for Easter using Sassy Cheryl's Funky Flower Bunch #1 and Funky Flower Bunch 2.  The inspiration for the design of these 2 cards came from a card designed by Dawn Lusk. Thank you Dawn for sharing your beautiful cards.  The background paper is lightly embossed but is hard to see in the picture.

Watering Can with Flowers Easter card

I used Sassy Cheryl's precolored image Fancy Watering Can with Flowers, printed the image out on Stampin Up's shimmer paper. SU cardstock. ribbon and decorative paper is from Papertrey Ink, and added a couple of pearls in the lower left corner.  The background paper is lightly embossed but it is hard to see in the picture but I just loved this image.

Sassy Cheryl's Blog Hop Challenge

Sassy Cheryl is celebrating ONE FULL YEAR of challenges with Pearls, Satin and a Blog Hop!  Stop on over to join in the fun.

I call this card "You Quack Me Up" and entering it in this weeks challenge Pearls & Satin.   What's a duck to do if he's not sporting his Pearls and Satin.  I used Sassy Cheryl's precolored image called "Duck Dance".

Card size is 5" x 5", mounted the image on a scalloped medallion cut with a Nestabilities.  Embellished the medallion with tiny pearls, added a greeting, flower and pearl popped up on satin ribbon.  I just needed to use "You Quack Me Up" as the sentiment for the front of the card.

Now for the truth, after I finished the entire card and ready to take pictures, I realized that I have the stripe decorative paper going the wrong, I wanted the stripes to be going up and down.  To late now, better luck next time, I say.

Sentiment inside reads:
happy easter, happy spring,
happy, happy everything!

Cardstock from Papertrey Ink and Stampin Up.  Decorative paper K & Co., pearls SU, ribbon is from my stash.
