Christmas Stockings - Tags - Ornament - Gift Card Holder

Now what would Christmas be with a Christmas Stocking. Created with Stampin Up decorative papers and cardstock.  They were such fun to make.  Use them for Ornaments, Tags, or insert a Gift Card in the top.  How cute they would look on your tree when all the grandkids stop over Christmas Day and find which stocking is theirs.  Each stocking is embellished with a coordinating button, twine, and a handmade paper poinsettia.  Each stocking is backed with Very Vanilla cardstock so you have a lot of room to write your Christmas greeting.

These are in my Etsy store and marked 20% OFF.

Christmas Tags - Sassy Cheryl digital images

I've added some new tags to my store on Etsy using digital images created by Sassy Cheryl.  Pretty easy tags to make using Cheryl's cute images. Layered them on a colored card stock background, added some baker's twine and lightly glittered the images with a artist's glitter pen.
Hope everyone enjoys the Christmas season.

Playing with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

It's been over a month since I posted anything to my Blog.  I really should post more often.  Since my Stash N Stuff store on Etsy has been going so well, yesterday I felt like being creative instead of cutting out die cuts for my store.

I decided to play around with my Distress Inks by Tim Holtz that I haven't done anything with yet.  I had a new Sizzix pumpkin die-cut that I started with.  After cutting these cute pumpkins I decided to ink them up a little with the Distress Inks.  First I inked up an old small background stamp from Stampin Up with black and stamped some little specks on the pumpkins.  Inked the pumpkin with Distress inks, I believe it was the Spiced Marmalade that I used. Then I inked up the edges with Tea Dye and the stem with Peeled Paint.  In the first picture you can see the difference a little ink will make, brings the pumpkins to life.

I was quite happy with the way my pumpkins turned out.  Now I thought what do I do with them so I decided to create some tags playing around with more of the Tim Holtz Distress Inks and stamps I had.

I created three tags as I enjoyed getting my fingers full of ink.  Ink pads all over my table as well as stamps.  Here's what I came up with.  This is not usually my style of card and tag creating but is was a lot of fun playing around with this type of inking and creating.  Feel free to leave comments and let me now what you think.  Here are my tag creations, now don't they just make you want to create and get your fingers full of ink.

Oh My! "Wildlife"

The Mulberry Tree that was pictured in my last post, now has some wildlife feeding on the berries.  Every year the deer and birds have a feast under the tree.  This deer has been here just about all day, they get so they don't get scared off that easy and I was able to get a couple of pictures.  Had to take them real quick before she ran off.  She is beautiful!

Greenery Everywhere!

I love all the brilliant greens of spring and summer.  Everything looks so green and lush with the trees full of their summer finest.  This is our Mulberry tree and it is loaded with berries.  The berries are white and will turn black when they ripen, the birds and deer will have a feast with all the berries.  Hopefully I will be able to get some pictures of the deer to post here.  A few years ago we debated on cutting the tree down but I told my husband no, it gives the deer and the birds food.  I'm glad we didn't cut it down, this tree is so big but this branch looked so pretty with the sun shining on it I just had to get this picture.  Enjoy!

Hens n Chickens

Just had to share this picture.  My cousin takes old work boots and plants Hens n Chickens in them.  He gave me these a couple of years ago but this Spring they have really taken off.  I guess all the snow and cold weather we had over the winter has really helped all the plants.  Everything around our house seems to be growing like crazy and the trees all look so beautiful all dressed in their green leaves.

I had these work boot planters out by our other door but the chipmunks keep munching on them so I had to move them to where they are now.  I had another pot of the same plant by the other door but the chipmunks ate them.  I didn't think the chipmunks would munch on this type of plant.

Enjoy everyone and have a wonderful day, it is so beautiful here today.  Our mulberry tree is just loaded with berries.  They are not ripe yet but when they are, the deer and the birds will have a feast.  Hopefully I can get some pictures of the deer eating the berries when they get ripe.

Sassy Cheryl's Show Me Thursday # 26

Every Thursday is "Show Me Thursday" at Sassy Cheryl's.  I never posted  to this before because no way could I let anyone see my craft room.  This weekend is Memorial Day weekend and hubby and I decided we were just staying home and moving furniture, shampooing carpets and in between all that mowing the lawn.

My craft room still isn't what I would like it to be but I must say I am a lot happier with it now that it is a little more organized.  I had 2 small tables before but brought in the 6 foot table, gives me more room and I can store some of the carts under the table.  Now I have to go through each drawer and organize them and label the drawers but that is not going to happen today.  On the table there are a couple of finished projects and some that I am working on.

Now that I have the room a little more organized, I even have room for the exercise bike in a place where I can use it instead of shoved in the corner with paper piled on top of it.

Stop on over to Sassy Cheryl's to see all the other Show Me Thursday entries.

So there it is folks complete with hound!  Happy Memorial Day everyone.
It's hard trying to take a picture when you have to aim towards the windows.

"A Little Bit of American Pie"

It has been quite a while since I've posted anything to my Blog. I just finished up a Patriotic card using Sassy Cheryl's images.  Papers are from K & Co. Americana.  Glittered card stock and ribbon from Stampin Up.  Star is a SU punch and the flowers are a die from PaperTrey Ink.

The 2nd card is also one of Cheryl's great images.  I love those Watering Can images.

Victorian Tags

I played around with some digital images today and created a set of 4 Jane Austen vintage victorian tags.
I merged several images together to get the vintage effect and then added some ribbon from my stash.  Images are from Cheryl at the House Across The Bay on Etsy.  The little crocheted flowers are from Valentine Fiber Arts on Etsy.  Donna has some really cute crocheted flowers.

Butterfly Tags

For some reason, I love to make tags and added these 2 sets to my Etsy store last night.  They measure 3 1/8 x 5 1/2.  I made them on heavy manila tag cover stock and covered with decorative papers and card stock.  I covered both the back and front of the tags and some embossing.  Embellished with butterflies from K & Co, and shear green and multi colored organza ribbon from Stampin Up.  Sentiments are from Anna Griffin and Hero Arts.  I made the tags all with supplies that I've had in my stash.  Enjoy!

My Sweet Sidney

I think we are all starting to heal a little over the loss of our sweet greyhound Sidney.  We are remembering all the great things about this dog, he was such a sweetheart.  He loved to be hugged.  He would go out in the yard and get his paws muddy, I told him he did that on purpose so I would have to clean his paws off when he came in.  He seemed to like that and would put his head on my shoulder or look up at me with a big grin while I cleaned his paws.  Of all my six greyhounds, he was the one that smiled the most.

A few years ago when we were at Dewey Beach, we had a Noreaster.  Sidney did like that, he loved standing out there in the wind.  He had to go out to go potty, in the meantime while he was enjoying the wind, I was almost getting blown away.  He did love the beach.  What a hound our Sidney was, we love him so much and remember what a great dog he was instead of the tragedy of his bone cancer.  We love you Sidney!

Our Sidney is gone, he will be forever in our Hearts.

Sidney
December 3, 2001 - March 29, 2011

Sidney is in a better place now.
We said good bye to our sweet boy at 6 pm on Tuesday night.
Our sweet, sweet boy we will miss you very much.
He left us very peacefully, with no pain, and running
at the Rainbow Bridge with all the other hounds.
Our hearts are broken but we know we did the right thing for our boy.
We love you, you'll always be our big goofy boy!

A Sad Note for Sidney

Bad news about our sweet greyhound Sidney, found out yesterday he has bone cancer.  He slipped coming into the house a couple of weeks ago, he started limping and we thought it was because of the little slip coming in the house.  Turns out he probably slipped because his leg was getting week from the cancer.  His leg started to swell a little, an x-ray confirmed our suspicions.  Sidney is the 5th greyhound we've adopted, such sweet gentle hounds.  We are heartbroken, he is such a sweet, sweet boy.   We adopted him in the summer of 2005.  At that time we had two other greyhounds and the three of them got along so well.

Our hearts are breaking but we know we have to let him go soon.  I can't let him suffer, we have several pain meds to keep him comfortable.  We could amputate and do chemo but my vet doesn't really advise it.  We have to think of what is best for our 10 year old boy, amputation and chemo might give him a few more months.  Do we really want to put our boy through all that pain and agony, no I don't think so. I can't do that to him, put him through that agony just so we can have a little more time with him.  I love him to much for that.  He can barely hold up that leg and is just dragging his paw, so soon he will be in a better place.

Here's some pictures of our sweet boy Sidney.  This is when we first brought him home in 2005, here he is with us, his new daddy and mommy.  We even had a Welcome Home Sidney party with some friends that also have greyhounds.

This picture is also when we first brought him home and introduced him to our 2 girls, Vicki and Carol.  We always muzzle the hounds when we first introduce them to new hounds.  A precaution just to make sure they are going to get along, and they did fabulously!  Sidney is on the left with the blue muzzle.

The rest of the pictures are from 2009, here he is with his new sister Ribena after we lost Vicki and Carol also to cancer.  I think most dogs die of some form of cancer.

Sadly, I'll see how he does today and we will have to make a heartbreaking decision but one that will be best for him.

For My Granddaughter

I used Sassy Cheryl's Wanna Be Bunny (girl) precolored image to create this card.  Papers from Stampin Up, flower dies from PaperTrey Ink.  Martha Stewart punch.  The sentiment on the front is an Anna Griffin set, I used 3 different stamps and got it on the first try.  I really surprised myself they lined up so well.  Greeting inside is computer generated.  For sure this is already in my Etsy store.  Enjoy!

One of these day if I ever can find enough hours in the day I will enter in some of the Challenges all over the blogging world.  I am so bad about posting to my blog.

Right now my poor greyhound Sidney is at the vet and things don't look to good for him.  Vet says to call after 3pm to see how the x-rays come out.  Such a sweet boy.

Enjoy the granddaughter card!

For My Daughter and For My Son

Looks like these cute little kids want to be the Easter Bunny with their long floppy ears.

Embossed background, Sassy Cheryl's precolored image, Wanna Be Bunny Boy & Girl are printed on shimmer paper and mounted on a scalloped medallion and popped up for dimension. Layered flowers embellished with buttons are popped up, ribbon and hand stamped sentiment "For My Daughter".

Cardstock from Stampin Up, decorative paper from PaperTrey Ink.  For the sentiment on the front I pulled out a set I've had for a long time, All Night Media Anna Griffin rubber stamp set.  Rubber stamp from Inkadinkado for the inside of card, I've had this stamp for quite a while and use it a lot for Easter cards.  Red ribbon is recycled from a gift.  Layered flower dies from PaperTrey Ink.
